David graduated from the VSF in 1963 and the University of Melbourne in 1966. In 1978-79 he did a post-graduate year studying forestry at Yale University.
After a year as an Engineering student at Melbourne University and National Service in RAEME, Sid entered Creswick in 1956. On graduating in 1958 he spent time at Mansfield, Corryong and Broadford before returning to Melbourne University to complete a Science Degree. He then worked on regeneration surveys at Connors Plains before taking on a caretaker role in the Research Branch tree breeding programme.
Val was born in 1922 in Mildura. He entered the School of Forestry, Creswick, in 1940, and began his career as an Assistant Forester at Mansfield in I943.
Barrie graduated from the VSF in 1954, and then attended The University of Melbourne to obtain his BSc Forestry in 1960 and a MSc Forestry in 1970. He became a Fellow of the Institute of Foresters in 2015.
