Well the rains have come and in a few days the whole of the appearance of the country is changed. Already a tender green is covering the hills and flats. 730 points of rain was registered, if not a little more. Floods occurred on Sunday night, but on Monday night the flood rose very high indeed. Large logs were moved a considerable distance. The stock have already stopped straying about the homes and are looking for picking. [MC, 3/3/39] |
