Wedding
21 August 1936
The marriage of Miss Dorothy Chequer to Mr A Bentley Saxton, eldest son of Mr and Mrs A T Saxton, of Moe, was celebrated at the Ivanhoe Baptist Church, on Saturday, August 15. A large number of friends from town and country gathered at the church to witness the ceremony, which was performed by the Rev F Pope. Given away by her uncle, Mr R Harding, the bride wore a simple white woollen frock of Parma violet, with a halo hat of navy velour, and navy shoes and gloves. The shade of the frock, which showed to advantage the bride’s delightful coloring, toned with the roses which composed her bouquet. ...The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr W G Saxton.
